InterScan VirusWall can be configured to respond to virus detection and security violation incidents in several ways, alone or in combination:

Automatic Virus Pattern File Updates
Frequent updates of virus pattern files are available from the Trend Micro Web site, and can be scheduled for automatic download and installation. Emergency pattern files are made available on an "as needed" basis.

Easy-to-Manage, Robust Activity Log
InterScan VirusWall maintains a comprehensive activity log, which details for each infected file or attempted security violation: the origin, name and destination of the file, the date the file was received, the identity of the virus found, and the action taken. This allows administrators to easily track the source of problems and deal with them appropriately.
Compatibility with Major Firewalls and Third-party Products
InterScan VirusWall integrates with many leading firewall and third-party products from Check Point™, Cisco™, Lucent™, Microsoft™ and NetScreen™ to maximize network security and simplify configuration and management.
CVP-compliant Firewall Integration
InterScan VirusWall seamlessly integrates with Check Point FireWall-1 NG or 2000 via Check Point's CVP API. This integration allows scanning of Internet traffic - SMTP, HTTP and FTP, without changing the network topology or end-user's browser proxy configuration - simply add a rule within the FW-1 rule base to redirect traffic to the InterScan VirusWall server. Multiple InterScan VirusWall servers may be grouped to provide load balancing and fault tolerance of virus and content scanning. InterScan VirusWall for NT v3.5 and v3.52 are OPSEC certified for FW-1 NG and 2000.

InterScan VirusWall integrates with Trend Micro Control Manager™ for centralized configuration and management of Trend Micro products and services.
Supports Lucent VPN Firewalls
InterScan VirusWall supports Lucent VPN firewalls - Brick 1000, 20, 201, 80 series -- by integrating with Trend Micro Content Scanning Protocol (CSP). The Brick models are integrated firewall/VPN gateway appliance for xSP and enterprise to home and SOHO users. With integration with InterScan VirusWall CSP Edition, the solution maximizes the network security without compromising network performance. (Solaris only)
Supports Netscreen Firewalls
InterScan VirusWall CSP Edition also supports Netscreen Firewalls 100 and 500 series for ease of configuration and management. The NetScreen-100 is designed for medium and large enterprise offices, and the NetScreen-500 is for large enterprise and service provider environments with high bandwidth or high capacity requirements. The InterScan VirusWall CSP Edition and NetScreen integrated solution enables customers to combine point solutions into a unified security protection framework. (Solaris only)
